The NOAA Inouye Regional Center welcomes school tours. Watch our 3-minute introductory video to learn about the facility and check out potential tour stops. Unfortunately, public tours are unavailable at this time.

Important Tour Information:

Base Access & Transportation:

  • Private Vehicles: If you are arriving in a private vehicle without a sponsor who has access to Ford Island, you must request group access to the NOAA facility at least 2 months in advance (we are located on a military base).
  • Commercial Transportation: If you are using transportation that already has base access (such as Roberts Hawaii or Grounds etc.), there is no advance notice required for base access, provided your desired tour date is available.

Tour Capacity:

  • Tours are designed for 5th grade-8th grade, but we can accommodate high school.
  • Standard tours can accommodate a maximum of 50 visitors per visit.
  • We are also soft-launching a new tour program with a maximum capacity of 25 students. If you are interested in this new program, please let us know via email.
