2022 SOST Opportunities and Actions Roundtable Submissions
Summary: With progressive climate change issues and the world moving at a faster pace. It is proving harder day by day for scientific understanding to break the tides of the past and help our coral reefs and marine world at the global pace that humanity has set in motion due to our daily footprint on our planet. I do believe however that change is possible and that hope is a guiding factor through these times. I feel in order to elevate that hope and help guide it. We as activists in our communities have to focus on #oceanoptimism and Ido this through the art work I make. I have worked with Lauren Howe-Kerr on her scientific papers and we created some exceptional artwork. I would love to share the power of what art can do to educate a different audience. I am also currently installing a 240 foot long immersive tunnel art installation at George Bush intercontinental Airport inspired by the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary. I would truly love to share the impact of public art to help educate a new audience about our local National Marine Sanctuaries.
