Durante una tormenta, ya sea que haya evacuado o que se esté refugiando en casa, sepa qué esperar de los peligros que podría enfrentar. Permanezca vigilante, manténgase actualizado con los últimos pronósticos y alertas, y continúe escuchando a las autoridades locales.

Mantenga siempre una distancia segura de las áreas inundadas y con daños. Cuando se está en riesgo de marejadas ciclónicas o inundaciones, es importante moverse hacia un terreno elevado lejos de cuerpos de agua y áreas propensas a inundaciones. Evacúe si se le indica que lo haga. Nunca maneje a través de inundaciones o puentes comprometidos. Siempre preste atención a las barreras y señales.
Si su casa se inunda y todavía está adentro, suba al nivel más alto de su residencia para escapar de las aguas de inundación. Si el piso más alto de su casa se vuelve peligroso, súbase al techo y llame al 9-1-1.
