Managing a federal award requires significant effort and resources. While assembling an application is a major task, properly administering one is even more demanding. You should familiarize yourself with these documents so that you can effectively manage your award. Applicants should consider what it takes to manage an award before they apply. Consider the effort and resources that are required when deciding to apply and try to account for that as much as possible in your proposed project and budget
If you’re selected for an award, you must comply with federal regulations under 2 CFR 200, the Department of Commerce (DOC) General Terms and Conditions, the NOAA Administrative Terms, and any special terms and conditions identified in your award specifically or by reference. These documents describe how recipients must manage their awards, including performance and financial compliance requirements.
Reporting requirements: You will be required to submit periodic reports to update NOAA on your activities (performance reports) and expenses (federal financial reports). The NOFO will outline reporting requirements and you will receive a report schedule in eRA. NOAA staff review your reports to ensure that your project is on track and is in compliance.
