Douglas Perry

Douglas Perry has 30+ years of public service as an electronics engineer and information technology manager at NOAA. He was appointed to the SES and joined the Office of the CIO to lead IT operations and transformation initiatives as the Deputy Chief Information Officer in July 2016. Prior to joining the OCIO, Doug served as the Assistant CIO for Marine and Aviation Operations and oversaw IT operations and service delivery to NOAA’s ship and aircraft fleet.

Doug began his federal career as an Electronics Engineer and was responsible for a variety of ship conversion projects and technology initiatives, including unique shipboard electronics, data acquisition, telecommunications and IT systems. Doug received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the West Virginia University Institute of Technology and a M.S. in Cybersecurity Policy and Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus. He is also an alumnus of the Federal Executive Institute.
