Experts recap October, provide climate outlooks through February incorporating the influence of El Niño
|
On Thursday, NOAA climate and weather experts will be available to discuss key findings from NOAA's October U.S. & global climate analyses, as well as discuss the latest forecast for El Niño and how that might influence this winter season. These new temperature and precipitation forecasts will update NOAA's winter outlook from Oct. 15. El Niño developed in March 2015 and has become one of the strongest in recent times. NOAA forecasters predict it will likely to peak in the northern hemisphere winter, and gradually weaken through late spring/early summer 2016. El Niño is known to exert a strong influence on climate patterns, particularly during winter. |
