NOAA OFFICE HOURS: OCEAN DATA IN THE CLOUD
July 12, 2023 | 12-1PM EDT

Post Event Notes

As part of the NOAA Open Data Dissemination (NODD) user engagement series, NODD, NOAA Office of Coast Survey (OCS), and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Registry of Open Data offsite link are hosting an Office Hours discussion on cloud access to NOAA’s ocean data.

This virtual discussion is to share information about the S-100 / S-111 precision marine navigation data and NODD efforts for open access via AWS. The Office Hours provides users and participants an opportunity to understand cloud access options, capabilities for cloud analytics, and connect with NOAA scientists and data experts on recent updates regarding this data.

In collaboration with NOAA Office of Coast Survey (OCS), the speakers for this Office Hours include OCS’s Darren Wright, Dr. Greg Seroka, NODD’s Adrienne Simonson, and AWS’ Chris Stoner. Participants span from business and industry, ocean and blue tech industry, government, and academia who are working at the crossroads of data science, cloud computing, and data access for its use in decision-making.

Participants are invited to provide candid comments, raise questions, or share feedback on their use experience to the NODD Engagement team (email nodd@noaa.gov).
