Tribal Priorities

NOAA will provide ~$390 million for tribal priorities that incorporates comments received during the IRA tribal consultation. This funding includes a $240 million tribal set-aside for fish hatcheries that produce Pacific Salmon and Steelhead to be administered through the Bureau of Indian Affairs; $60 million for Mitchell Act Hatcheries; $70 million in additional funding for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Restoring Tribal Priority Fish Passage through Barrier Removal Notice of Funding Opportunity; and a $20 million tribal set-aside for capacity building, science, and related needs through an updated Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Coastal Habitat Restoration and Resilience Grants for Tribes and Underserved Communities Notice of Funding Opportunity.
