NOAA scientists use drones to see tornado damage in remote areas

NOAA researchers used uncrewed aircraft to capture aerial images and video of damage following two tornado outbreaks in Alabama and Mississippi in March 2021. Researchers hope this new approach to damage assessment can improve our understanding of tornadoes and lead to better forecasts.
