Description

Cross-Section of the Atlantic Basin at Latitude 12 N extending from Sierra Leone to Barbados. This profile was made as a result of sounding taken on theSchool-Ship MERCURY, a vessel for training orphan boys and delinquent boys innautical and oceanographic science. The sounding at 45 W indicated thesouthern extension of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge from the Azores.
