Description

A tsunami time-travel map by Ferdinand Hochstetter published in Petermann'sGeographische for the Arica, Peru, earthquake ( 8.5 to 9.0magnitude) of August 13, 1868. Tsunamis were observed throughout much of thePacific Ocean for the next two days. Average depths along the travel lines arecomputed depths (method developed by Superintendent Bache of the USCS in 1855.)
