Lake Erie harmful algal bloom forecast July 12
The Ohio State University’s Ohio Sea Grant Program and Stone Laboratory will host a media briefing to announce NOAA’s 2018 Harmful Algal Bloom forecast for Lake Erie on Thu., July 12.
Media will have opportunity to see how water is sampled as they travel to the lake laboratory.
OSU and NOAA will also stream the event offsite linkin a webinar for the press and public.
Media briefing to include:
Lake Erie water sampling boat trip;
NOAA’s 2018 Lake Erie HABs forecast;
Discussion of the Ohio Department of Higher Education's Harmful Algal Bloom Research Initiativeoffsite link, known as HABRI;
A history of HABs in Lake Erie.

Reporters should take the Miller Ferry departing from Catawba Point at 9:30 a.m. Stone Lab staff will meet the ferry and take reporters to the lab.
