Today, the Deepwater Horizon Natural Resources Trustees released a restoration plan for the Open Ocean Restoration Area. A media teleconference is scheduled this afternoon at 1:00 pm ET.
The plan proposes $226 million in preferred restoration projects to help restore fish, sea turtles, marine mammals and deep-sea coral habitat injured by the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. It represents the largest dedication of Natural Resource Damage Assessment funds to restore these oceanic marine resources in the Gulf to date.
