This map used Sir John Murray's bathymetric map as the base map for a map ofworld vulcanism. Published in 1914 under the title Oro-Bathygraphical Chart ofthe World. This was probably one of the last maps published using Sir JohnMurray's nomenclature and interpretation of the bathymetry of the seafloor. (Image credit: NOAA Central Library Historical Collection)
