Dauphin Island Sea Laboratory

The Dauphin Island Sea Lab (DISL) is the marine education and research facility for the state of Alabama. DISL’s programs include field-based classes with overnight accommodations for K-12 students and teachers, summer camps for K-12 students, professional development opportunities for teachers, a nationally recognized residential class in marine science for high school students, summer academic classes for undergraduate students, graduate classes and research programs throughout the year and a 12,500 ft2 public aquarium known as The Estuarium.
