NOAA to announce 2017 U.S. climate highlights and updates to billion-dollar weather disasters

On Monday, NOAA experts will discuss key 2017 temperature and precipitation highlights for the U.S. Additionally, NOAA will provide updated information on the number and damage estimates from weather events in the U.S. that reached the $1 billion threshold in losses for 2017.

Note on preliminary global 2017 highlights: A summary of the global temperature highlights for 2017 is expected to be released by both NOAA and NASA on January 18. A separate media advisory will be sent out for that joint press call.
